We are located in the North of Norway 69`degrees north, above the arctic circle. Almost in the middle of the county of Troms, the second most northern county in Norway. Senja island is situated on the nice coast line in between the two cities Tromsø and Narvik. On the outer wild part of the island, two fishing communities; Senjahopen and Mefjordvær, are located. Here you will found the base of Senja Lodge & Mountainguides.
You can fly from Oslo to Bardufoss airport with 2 daily flights 7 days a week. From here you can be picked up by your guide from Senja Lodge & Mountainguides, and then have a nice drive to outer part of Senja island. The drive takes about 80 minutes. You can also hire a car at the airport on Bardufoss if you are an independent guest. Some busses goes out to Senja, but it takes some time.
You can also fly to the larger city Tromsø. There are lots of flights every day from Oslo. From here you can either be picked up by your guide who will take you to Senja island. Or you can take a buss or the nice catamaran boat trip to the town of Finnsnes. From here you can hire a car or take another buss to Mefjordvær in Senja.
You can also fly to the airport of Harstad/Narvik-Evenes that is located to the south of Senja, in between the city's of Harstad and Narvik. Lots of flights every day from Oslo. From here you can either be picked up by your guide who will take you to Senja island. Or you can take a buss to Finnsnes city. From here you can hire a car or take a buss to Mefjordvær in Senja.
If you come from Sweden, you can take a flight to Kiruna airport. Kiruna is the most northern town in Sweden. From here you take the train to the town Narvik in Norway. You can also take the train the entire way from Stockholm or Gøteborg. From Narvik you can take a buss to the town of Finnsnes. Or you can hire a car. In Finnsnes you can meet your guide and drive to Mefjordvær in Senja.
If you are arriving with car from the south, you just follow the main road of E6 up to where you are in between the two towns of Narvik and Tromsø. Here you cath up with the large river of Målselva and just follow the road nr 855 and 861 to Finnsnes and Mefjordvær on Senja island.
There are also daily catamaran boats that transfer people in between the towns of Harstad-Finnsnes-Tromsø. And the famous cruise ship Hurtigruten has daily arrival at the bay of Finnsnes.
